Liquid Story Binder XE Tutorial: Outlines...
 


To create a new Outline, choose 'New Outline' from the main 'Create' menu.





Enter a title for your new Outline and click the 'OK!!' button.





A new, blank Outline will open. Add items using the 'New Item' icon.





To edit an item, simply select an item and begin typing.





Nest items using the ARROW ICONS. Click the 'Move Right' icon to indent or 'nest' selected items.





The selected items are now nested. Notice the small minus (-) sign next to the parent item above the selected items.

Click this minus (-) sign to hide or 'collapse' nested items directly below.






Click the plus (+) sign to reveal or 'expand' hidden items.





Create multiple nestings using the ARROW ICONS.





Add color to your items using the 'Content' menu.






The Color dialog will open allow you to change the indexing color of the selected items.





Use the 'Preferences' dialog to change the Outline 'Item Width' and 'Indent Size'. Choose 'View Preferences' from the main 'Preferences' menu.






Notice the change in item size and how it effects item display.





Select multiple items by dragging the mouse.

Choose 'Align' from the 'Items' menu to align multiple items under the first item selected.





The selected items are now arranged beneath the topmost selected item.





Edit longer items using the Caption Editor. Choose 'Caption' from the 'Content' menu.





The Caption Editor allows you to edit longer items easily.
