To create a new Mindmap, choose 'New Mindmap' from the main 'Create' menu.
Enter a title for your new Mindmap and click the 'OK!!' button.
A new, blank Mindmap will open.
Double-click anywhere within the Mindmap window to add a new item.
Simply begin typing to change the contents of the selected item.
Add further items by double-clicking around the central item. Note how each new item is connected to the original, central item.
To change the text of an item, click the desired item, and begin typing.
Reposition selected items using the ARROW ICONS.
Highlight important items using color. Select the items you wish to change and choose 'Color' from the 'Mindmap' menu.
Notice the item color change.
Quickly add a list of items by pressing ENTER.
To change how items are connected, begin by selecting a parent or originating item.
Now, holding down the CTRL key, SHIFT key, or by dragging the mouse, select the items to be changed, making sure to keep the original parent item as the initial item selected.
Choose 'Connect' from the 'Items' menu.
Notice the change in connecting lines.
Once again, use the ARROW ICONS, to reposition.
To DISCONNECT an item, isolating it from other items, choose 'Disconnect' from the 'Items' menu.
Notice the lack of connecting lines around the selected item.
Use a Mindmap to create a family tree.
Use Mindmaps to create and organize Dossiers. Begin by choosing 'Dossier Mode' from the Mindmap's 'Preferences' menu.
In 'Dossier Mode', double-click any item to create or open a Dossier.
