Concerning Recent Changes...

A new ‘Resource’ file type has been added to Liquid Story Binder XE. The Resource file type allows you to quickly store and access external documents. Use Resources to store Book-related documents such as PDF files and video. Resources will work in much the same fashion as the Shortcut file type -- except for one important difference. Resources are included as part of the current Book. When a new 'Resource' is created, the source document is copied to the Book folder -- not linked as with the Shortcuts file type. To add a new Resource, choose 'New Resource...' from the 'Resources' menu. The chosen document will be copied to the current Book folder and listed under the 'Resources' menu.

An option to include external music files has been added to the Playlist file type. Choose ‘New External Items’ from the Playlist’s ‘Items’ menu.

A Storyboard item wrapping option has been added to the main ‘Preferences’ dialog. With Storyboard item wrapping enabled, newly inserted items will shuffle all subsequent items to the right and (in the case of end-of-line items) down. Deleting an item moves all subsequent items to the left and (in the case of start-of-line items) up. This feature works in much the same fashion as document word wrapping. Choose 'Wrap Storyboard Items' under the 'Storyboard Preferences' option using the ‘Preferences’ dialog.

Both the ‘Format for Print’ and ‘Manuscript Builder’ have been overhauled, including better style preservation options.

A file transfer tool has been added to Liquid Story Binder XE. Use this tool to copy files between Books. Choose ‘Transfer Files’ from the main ‘Files’ menu.

The ‘Style Cleaner’ tool has been overhauled. While preserving bold, italics and underline, all other existing RTF is stripped away, effectively cleaning the document of any potential external corruption.

It is now possible to manually change ‘Global Session’ and ‘Global Version’ word count values using the ‘Work Statistics’ dialog. Click the associated word count display box to enter your preferred values.

Two new timer preferences have been added. The ‘Writing Activates Paused Timers’ preference will automatically resume paused timers when Chapter, Builder or Journal documents are changed. The ‘Pause Timers While Planning’ preference will pause all timers whenever the Chapter, Builder or Journal document loses focus. These two preferences work in conjunction with the ‘Excluding Builders and Journals from Global Statistics’ preferences.

An 'Alarm' tool has been added to Liquid Story Binder XE. This tool as two main functions. First, as a count-down alarm. Secondly, as a word-goal accomplishment notification. Use the designated scrollbars to set your preferred values. Click the associated value display boxes to preview sound and volume levels. The Alarm works in conjunction with the 'Pause Timers While Planning' preference. The Alarm will pause when the statistical timers are paused. Choose 'Alarms' from the main 'Tools' menu.
